12 New Cars That Are Worth Waiting For

FALL 2012: Ford Fiesta ST

The Fiesta ST will have an altered body for improved cooling, but may be available only as a three-door hatch. It will have better suspension tuning, possibly Recaro racing seats, some unique trim, 17-inch wheels, speed-rated performance tires and dual exhaust. Ford reportedly experimented with cramming the 2.0-liter engine from the Focus ST into this car. Unfortunately, that won't be coming to the showroom, partly because Ford is working hard to differentiate its two hot hatches. The automaker is launching them at least six months apart and trying to give the Fiesta as much of a sport focus as possible, while selling the Focus with more of an upscale feel. So expect the Fiesta to carry a directly injected, turbocharged 1.6-liter four.

Excitement About Seeing The 2012 Ford Focus Electric Sedan To Hit The Roads

Earlier this week, Ford made an announcement saying that their new Ford Focus Electric Sedan will be available in North America next year. California, New York and New Jersey will be the first to experience the new 2012 Ford Focus Electric in limited quantities. As production beings to increase for Ford, the Focus Electric will be making itself availavle in 15 other launch markets. Ford has released some news to the press saying that any drivers whom want to go completely gasoline free will have the ability to configure the new 2012 Ford Focus Electric online at Ford.com and they will be able to place their orders with certified Ford dealers. Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Orlando, Phoenix, Seattle, and Washington D.C. are going to be among the markets that will first receive the new Ford Focus Electric. These areas were selected based on their commuting patterns, existing hybrid purchasing trends, utility-company collaboration, and local government commitment to electrification – Ford said. The Ford Focus Electric will be the company’s first all-electric passenger vehicle and it is planned to launch in North America next year. The new Ford Focus Electric will be powered by a lithium ion battery, which will enable customers to never have to purchase a drop of gas ever again. Needless to say, this new Focus is going to be fairly popular, and that popularity is not limited only to hybrid supporters. Everyone is going to want a piece of this action, especially with the gas prices the way that they are right now. It is nice to see a company stepping up, and taking strides to do something about it.

After driving thousands of miles in more than 200 new vehicles in the past year, and rating each one independently, High Gear Media's editors have chosen a winner.
TheCarConnection's Best Car To Buy 2012 is the 2012 Ford Focus.
Each year, our team rates each new vehicle we review based on styling, performance, utility, safety, and features. As the year progresses, we begin to see some winners emerge from the usual pack of 50 to 70 brand-new or significantly updated vehicles we drive each year--at home, or around the world.

Motor Trend 2012 Truck of the Year Winner: Ford F-150

From the February, 2012 issue of Motor Trend
By Michael Febbo

You Know that feeling you get when you see a supercar sitting in the parking lot of the local six-buck-a-cup coffee shop? The ache in your stomach, knowing that toddling back and forth from the gated community to the strip mall is all the driving that poor car will ever do? We get that same feeling when we see an F-150 that doesn't have at least 1000 pounds in the bed or 5000 pounds hanging off the hitch. Just like that supercar, the F-150 is a tool built for a purpose. It has a goal in life, and the people who never use it as it was intended are squandering the truck's ability and a heritage that goes back to 1948......Ford offers an enormous variety of configurations and designs, making the truck tailorable to just about any need. It's the combination of advancement in design, engineering excellence, efficiency, safety, value, and the performance of intended function that has earned the Ford F-150 the title of Motor Trend's Truck of the Year.

Ford Focus Review

Ford Focus Review - What the Auto Press Says

The 2012 Ford Focus ranks 2 out of 41 Affordable Small Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 41 published reviews and test drives of the Ford Focus, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
The Ford Focus is completely redesigned for the 2012 model year. Reviewers find the Focus’ exterior and interior changes impressive, and also think performance has improved.
The Ford Focus was popular and well-liked when it debuted in 2000, but over time the competition improved, and the Focus lost its appeal. About twelve years later, Ford has revamped the Focus from the inside out to take on the competition. The interior was one of the first things to change, now featuring more high tech options. The 2012 Focus gets MyKey and MyFord, two features that are available on other models like the Ford Edge. MyFord integrates entertainment, navigation and communication into a touch screen console. MyKey is a safety feature that restricts vehicle speed and stereo volume while your teen drives.
The industry is also excited about the Focus’s standard torque vectoring control – a first for a car in this class. Torque vectoring control increases vehicle stability by adding brake force to wheels on one side during turns, and is a great feature for driving enthusiasts.
The Focus also got a lot of exterior updates, and the industry is very pleased with the changes. The newest Focus looks sportier and more aggressive than older models and falls in line with the Honda Fit and Ford Fiesta.
Reviewers love the changes on the new Ford Focus, and think it's a wise pick for any small car shopper. But there are lot of great cars in the class, and test drivers think it's a good idea check the competition first.
