Earlier
this week, Ford made an announcement saying that their new Ford Focus Electric
Sedan will be available in North America next year. California, New York and
New Jersey will be the first to experience the new 2012 Ford Focus Electric in
limited quantities. As production beings to increase for Ford, the Focus
Electric will be making itself availavle in 15 other launch markets. Ford has
released some news to the press saying that any drivers whom want to go
completely gasoline free will have the ability to configure the new 2012 Ford
Focus Electric online at Ford.com and they will be able to place their orders
with certified Ford dealers. Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Orlando,
Phoenix, Seattle, and Washington D.C. are going to be among the markets that
will first receive the new Ford Focus Electric. These areas were selected based
on their commuting patterns, existing hybrid purchasing trends, utility-company
collaboration, and local government commitment to electrification – Ford said.
The Ford Focus Electric will be the company’s first all-electric passenger
vehicle and it is planned to launch in North America next year. The new Ford
Focus Electric will be powered by a lithium ion battery, which will enable
customers to never have to purchase a drop of gas ever again. Needless to say,
this new Focus is going to be fairly popular, and that popularity is not
limited only to hybrid supporters. Everyone is going to want a piece of this
action, especially with the gas prices the way that they are right now. It is
nice to see a company stepping up, and taking strides to do something about it.
